The footballing gods are not smiling on Iker Casillas at the moment.
Not
only has the Spain keeper lost his place in the Real Madrid team but,
when he returned to play his first game in 238 days, he lasted only 13
minutes after being injured in a collision... with one of his own
team-mates.
Madrid's
opening Champions League game against Galatasaray in Turkey was only
three minutes old when defender Sergio Ramos clattered into Casillas as
they both went for a cross. All seemed fine to begin with but it soon
became clear that the keeper had injured his ribs.

After
being strapped with bandages, the unfortunate No 1 decided he could not
continue and was substituted for the man who has usurped him at the
Bernabeu. Diego Lopez has been selected to play in La Liga games while
Casillas is reserved for Europe.
Madrid
beat the Turkish side 6-1, courtesy of another hat-trick from Cristiano
Ronaldo, before the team boarded a flight home where Casillas suffered a
painful reminder of his poor luck... after being sat next to Ramos.

The pair were able to laugh
about the incident with Ramos tweeting a picture that seemed to show
Casillas exacting his revenge, with the caption: 'Departing home... sat
beside... humm, humm..Lol. Someone wants to kill me today! It's
meaningless and he'll be back soon.'
Spanish newspaper Marca reported that the keeper has only suffered bruised ribs and is not expected to be sidelined for too long.
