Cristiano Ronaldo moved to end
speculation linking him to a return to Manchester United by claiming his
future lies at current club Real Madrid.
The
Portuguese superstar has openly admitted his love for his former club
as United, who sold Ronaldo to Real for £80million in 2009, try and lure
him back to the Premier League.
But, speaking to Spanish newspaper AS at a gala in Monaco,
he said: 'It (Manchester United) is a club that has been in my heart
for a long time. Everyone knows the passion I have for this club. But my
future is at Real Madrid.

'At Madrid, we have to do all we can
to win La Liga and the Champions League. I also hope to qualify for the
World Cup with Portugal.'
Earlier this week, Ronaldo told Sky Sports: 'I really miss English football. For me, it was some of the best years when I was there, everyone knows that. Manchester United is still a club that is close to my heart.'
Real are trying their hardest to ensure the 28-year-old signs a new deal but United hope his ties with former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, now a director at the club, will bring him 'home'.
But Ronaldo also said he has taken to life in the Spanish capital.
'Now my life in in Spain and I have enjoyed playing there too,' he continued. 'Part of my life is there, but in the future we never know. I am really, really happy in the Spanish league.'
